Horrible App

So frustrating!

About to change them

Used to work fine but thru the years gets worse and worse. The app is terrible, no updates, no good connection, delays on the “in live” etc etc. I’m going to request to change the devices with ATT which is my home security provider for a better ones. Possibly Google since they’re affiliated.

Not showing images. All we see is the front porch and not who is outside at all.

New app appears not to be working to show who is at the door. Our dog barks so we know someone is here. Need help so camera is fully working

Hit or miss

It’s hit or miss if I EVER see any data from my app. Very frustrating. This is probably the cheapest and most ineffective door camera I’ve ever seen. I am for sure going with another option. I’ve had it for 5 years so it’s not like I haven’t tried or given it a chance

Terrible

If I could give negative stars I would. These cameras are terrible quality, they rarely ever connect when you try to view them, and if they miraculously do manage to show you anything, it’s a terrible quality that freezes up after a few seconds. The new app keeps popping up every time I open this one. However, it refuses to connect my cameras to it for some reason. I will be switching away from SkyBell as soon as I can. They truly are garbage.

Motion sensor just stopped working

It was a really good doorbell camera up until motion sensors weren’t picking up anything , you can literally be right in front of the camera and they won’t go off! So disappointing save your money and time , get a better doorbell camera (RING)

I don’t reccomend it

I have several different video doorbells and frankly this one is not worth it. Plus your forced to do a monthly charge for video storage. Other have as cards in them other have a bridge and a storage unit that plugs in the house . You can access those any time any where. This app doesn’t show me the latest movement. It shows me hours ago. It takes for ever to log in. When the door bell is pushed it takes minutes to connect with the person at the door! What a waste of time. It need to be instant! Yes I’m In my house yes in the same Network and yes full strong 300 WiFi!!! It’s o ly the fault of the skybell. Slow! Costly and antique.

Awful

What a waste! Everything changed when they want you to migrate to the new HD app! Well tech support and calling was useless, all they said was to change my password and that’ll fix the problem?! Email after email from Mike was like did we fix it? No because your answer is Password fixing? Threw the whole doorbell out and we bought a google nest!

The app needs

The skybell camera app has MUCH to be desired! I turned off motion notifications; I don’t get notifications but it still records motion! I turned down sensitivity but it still senses motion! I have hi speed WiFi, but 4/3rds of the time when the door bell rings I can’t see who’s is at the door on the app! I guess I would be complaining more if the app didn’t work at all!

Don’t bother

What a waste. I work in tech, but this thing is such a bummer. It takes sooo looong to connect—if it does at all. Firmware updates change one’s settings to boot.

Worked great for a couple of years and now it’s junk and doesn’t do anything.

Just horrible

Can never livestream when I receive a notification! I’m getting dried of this horrible cam! Ring has been amazing since I can’t rely just on this doorbell I placed some ring cameras in my window

Stopped working

I’ve had the SkyBell for years and it’s always worked great. As of a few weeks ago it completely stopped working and now I only have a flashing light. I hope customer service will help me find a solution, if not I will have to uninstall and purchase a different one instead.

No sleazy subscription “service“.

Favorite thing about the skybell is that there is no sleazy subscription “service” to view my own videos, so based on that alone this is the best doorbell camera available that I know of. Amazing to me that some people are dumb enough to pay infinite monthly fees for stuff like that, btw. Would love to see them expand into similar offerings like garage cameras, porch- and carriage-light cameras, homekit compatibility, a roku channel or something so I can see who’s at the door on my tv, etc. However, it is pretty cheesy that they lied about having a temperature sensor, and though they did honor their warranty on my first one which was defective, they told me that its replacement had no warranty at all, so I guess it’s just luck that the replacement is doing ok so far, otherwise it would’ve been a complete ripoff.

Notifications to iPhone fail

This doesn’t record everything. Some how all delivery is not recorded or notifies me. Pain to delete app and reinstall to get to work. Probably will upgrade to better system.

Not able to configure

It come with my new home. I tried to connect through android and iOS apps but got no success. It’s better to go for ring or something else.

Can’t connect

Have the skybell system in sync mode and the product refuses to connect. Terrible service.

Poor Design

Do not switch to the new app. Frustrated enough to look for a new device.!!

Wouldn’t connect to wifi

After trying 7 times, still wouldn’t connect to wifi stating that my wifi password is wrong. Pretty much a $10 doorbell with just a button that makes sound.

SkyBell door bell

The SkyBell doorbell and app have been working well for several years. So I don’t know why the reviews do not reflect what a good product this is as well as the service which I used a couple years ago.

Never can get live cam to work

What a great idea! Someone rings the doorbell and if I’m not home, I can just push a button on my phone and talk to them. Or not. This doorbell seldom (RARELY) works on live stream. It’s not because my WiFi is not close, because it is. The system just never seems to work. I always get a ‘Can’t connect, try again later’ message. Good thing that this doorbell came with the house, I would never spend the $$ to go out and buy one. Your results may vary.

Worst app ever

Trade for over a week to get this set up and it doesn’t work. It keeps getting stuck on stupid just like the developers who made this. You guys need to go back to McDonald’s, you’re not meant for this kind of work

Absolute garbage

Wow what an absolute dumpster fire of an app. The app needs internet to run, yet tells you to connect to your doorbell wifi to set up, which has no internet on it. Also won't work with any wifi routers that use 5ghz. Stay away.

I made a account and I had it for a year and they tell they don’t see my email in the account I’m very disappointed

Works decently, no subscription required

I‘be had one of these doorbells for a couple of years now, and it works decently but has definitely gotten inconsistent over time. Like others have said, mine triggered quite reliably when it was new, although it often triggered on false alarms, especially on windy days so I can only assume it’s picking up shadow movement… and sometimes it misses people. But I mostly bought it because it doesn’t require a subscription! It’s not clear to me where the video clips are stored; are they on Skybell servers? Or are they transmitted to my phone only, and if so, what if my phone offline? An app feature that seems missing or well hidden: I can’t find a way to save a video to my photos, or forward to anyone. That and motion detection inconsistencies are why I’m giving it 3 stars.

HORRIBLE - Zero Stars!

I ‘inherited’ a SkyBell with our new house. It might be functional but I cannot get it working. The app is totally useless - I must uninstall/reinstall it to resync, it does not show the operating condition of the hardware (must step outside to check the LED codes… can’t these be on the app as well?), cannot do simple tasks (reset, check doorbell operation) from the app. Every one-star review has the same “please reach out to our support team” reply. Why don’t the developers work at fixing the issues and get things working properly, instead of passing us off to useless customer ‘support’? You obviously don’t want to keep your customers happy.

Round Skybell

I love the round SkyBell. I don’t understand why we have all these rectangular style doorbells, but only one round doorbell on the market. What’s wrong with diversity? Produce more round doorbells that works like Ring. I would never need to switch to another doorbell!

Updates?

I keep getting issues with my skybell. I also noticed no updates have been made in a while. Is the device and/or this app still being supported?

Doesn’t sync nor open fast enough

I’ve had the SkyBell doorbell device for 7 yrs and it simply is not suitable for security use. It never captures delivery drop, the syncing is always off and by the time who ever rings the door bell and leaves a package, they are gone and the camera captures none of it. This will be my last year with the SkyBell, I’m definitely going with the ring instead.

Doesn’t work when you need it

doorbell rings, someone’s at the door, you get the notification, you want to look through the camera feed before opening the door, the app keeps buffering and won’t open. Few minutes you will get a video recording of few minutes ago when the door bell rung by that time you missed your delivery or guests or worse

Worst syncing I’ve dealt with and I know electronics

I don’t know why my apartment complex decided to use this brand of smart camera but it’s not smart at all. Syncing won’t sync. Wi-Fi setup networks won’t pop up. What a NIGHTMARE. Emailing the front desk as we speak before I smash this device off with a hammer. Worst. Ever.

Glitches regularly. No updates in over a year? DO NOT BUY

Crap…Highly disappointed. I want a refund. Connection problems and cannot see live video regularly.

Bad product

I’ve had the SkyBell for two years and I’ve had so many issues with the app. I’m not sure what’s going on with the product management team but they are clearly struggling.

An app for a security camera not being updated in a year = Abandoned

This app does not work properly or consistently anymore. I have updated my iOS more times than I can count in the past year yet your app to monitor my home security hasn’t been updated in a year? I’ll be finding another security company that prioritizes their customers, thank you.

Practically Unusable

It's insane how horrible this thing is. It took me 30 minutes to connect it to the wifi because it wouldn't connect. It takes several minutes to actually show the video of who is at the door if I'm in the house, if I'm not in the house, it never loads. It's absolutely garbage.

If I could give it one star I would… this app is pointless.

Good luck pairing your Skybell

The pairing flow is a hot mess. The amount of time and effort trying to get thing to work is not worth it. Good luck to anyone who gets this thing going. Oh, and the nodal pop up for the pairing process is unresponsive and pore UI/UX as a whole

Unable to get it to work after wifi changed

We changed our internet provider and have a new password , easy enough to change on most devices but not the SkyBell , several soft resets and attempts to return to factory setting , finally able to put new info in but it didn’t accept it snd defered back to old internet provider that is non functioning so neither is my SkyBell, I called technical support and they were super patient and kind in trying to resolve the issue but were unable to get it working , might be an issue with the older models , I really don’t remember how long we have had the device

Good system

I bought a house and inherited a Skybell doorbell, no more than two years old. I could not connect to it, couldn’t do anything g with it. Weeks of continual trying didn’t yield any results at all. The Skybell doorbell is completely useless, and I have to buy a new one, a different brand no doubt. Neither my iPhone nor my iPad Pro would connect to it, no matter how many times I entered ,y correct login details. It’s like the manufacturers made it, sold it, then took their money and ran. Please don’t buy a Skybell Update: After speaking with customer service, I learned that the Skybell I have installed isn’t compatible with the app, so I’m unable to use it. However, it seems like a good system when it works!

Good but not the best

I’ve had one for a few years now. It works great but the videos take awhile to load. And sometimes when the doorbell rings the video won’t turn or takes too long so I can’t see who is at the door before they walk away.
